Ask Maho AI about the Japanese you are studying
Maho AI can use the article, sentence or word you are viewing as context. Ask about what you do not understand, then continue with examples, exercises and situations that interest you.

If a translation does not explain a particle or verb form, type a question to Maho. It can explain usage in your current material, compare similar words or patterns, and prepare examples, flashcards and exercises.
While viewing 新しい本を読みます。, ask “How is を used here?” Then follow up with “If I say I am going to a library, would I still use を?” Compare particles in different sentences while staying with the same question.
Ask AI to prepare Japanese material around your interests
For travel, ordering food, sports or work, tell Maho your level and goal. Try “I am at N5 level. Create a short café ordering dialogue, explain the key words and give me two fill-in-the-blank questions.” Clear requests help make the material appropriate to your needs.
AI-generated dialogues can be studied with sentence analysis and role-based read-aloud. Generated material can also be organized into study notes to revisit. These are text-based materials and simulated situations, rather than a human tutoring lesson or live spoken-language scoring.
How to ask for a useful explanation
Maho aims to give everyone a personal learning assistant they can ask at any time. Current features connect analysis, lessons and AI questions. They do not guarantee fluency; understanding, practice and review are still part of learning.
If you are unsure what to ask, start with the one-sentence lesson on を and で. Find the part you do not understand, then use the Maho question example in the article.
- Identify the word or pattern you do not understand, such as “Why is で used here?”
- State your level and the context you care about: “Explain it using N5-level Japanese.”
- Ask for a similar example, then try writing your own sentence or completing an exercise.
- If the answer seems doubtful, ask it to explain the difference and check the original sentence. AI can make mistakes; do not treat every answer as authoritative.

Questions
How is Maho AI different from a general chat AI?
Maho brings your current learning material into the conversation and connects explanations to word cards, grammar cards, exercises and study notes. Ask while reading or studying without rebuilding the context each time.
Are AI answers always correct?
No. AI can misread context or produce inaccurate explanations. For important grammar, tone or formal use, check the original and reliable learning materials. Ask for more examples to test the explanation.
Does the AI tutor use points?
AI features use account points, depending on the model and content. Check your balance, top-up options and usage history in the App. The website’s fixed interactive examples do not deduct points.
