About Maho Japanese

We are exploring how AI can change language learning. Start with something you care about, then connect reading, questions, practice and review with your own learning assistant.

Why are we building Maho?

An unfamiliar expression often sits inside a sentence you already want to understand. We want you to ask about it without first organizing your question into a whole lesson, and turn material from books, manga, articles or videos into something you can study.

Maho Japanese is developed by Appar Technologies. We continue to explore how AI can help prepare material around a learner’s interests and level, making a personal assistant part of everyday study.

What can you try today?

Explore original sentences, translations, readings and usage with Japanese photo and text analysis. You can also study Japanese YouTube captions that can be retrieved, one sentence at a time.

Build your foundation with JLPT N5–N1 vocabulary and grammar lessons. Ask Maho AI about a sentence, or request examples, flashcards and exercises. These links describe current features; our approach to personalized material continues to develop.

How do we produce the learning notes and examples?

Our learning notes, examples and demonstrations use AI to assist with research and production and are maintained by the Maho team. App guides cover specific tools, their features, intended learners, costs and limits. Tutorials use examples, exercises or illustrations we create. Articles include sources you can inspect.

Before publication, we check written forms, readings, contextual meanings, grammar scope and answers. Product claims are checked against official information or actual use, with source checks and hands-on testing described separately. English copy is written separately; Simplified Chinese is converted and checked while Japanese examples stay in Japanese.

The fixed conversations and exercises on this website are prepared demonstrations. Open the Maho App to analyze your own material or generate study content. The examples in articles are not records of your personal AI conversation.

How should you read our app recommendations?

Maho is our own product, and our recommendations disclose that relationship. We distinguish forum experiences, official feature descriptions, store information and hands-on testing. A researched comparison is not presented as a test of every tool.

Free limits, prices and features can change. Check the article’s review date and its sources. We explain our choices by learning needs so you can judge whether a tool fits your level, material and review routine.
